Crafted with our signature production heritage—utilizing small-diameter knitting machines to create heavy-gauge fabric and flatseamer stitching via US-made sewing machines—this piece represents a classic BARNS OUTFITTERS staple. The "COZUN" series originated from developing a fabric robust enough to withstand flatseamer construction. As it conforms to your body over time, it becomes a cherished favorite for years to come.
This year, our flagship collection welcomes a special 'Mickey Mouse' design created by JACKSON MATISSE. Following our previously released Tsuri-ami (loopwheel) T-shirt, this exclusive design wraps the timeless 'Mickey Mouse' in a classic collegiate aesthetic.

"Classic Mickey"

The "Mickey Mouse" graphic has adorned countless wardrobe staples over the decades, spanning T-shirts, sweatshirts, and chambray shirts. From this extensive archive, we recreated the late-1930s "Classic Mickey"—the era when the pie-cut eye was replaced with solid oval pupils. Infused with a rich collegiate aesthetic by "JACKSON MATISSE," the design is deliberately offered only in White and Gray body colors to blend naturally with the print. Utilizing a wash-out printing technique, it captures even the soft, worn fuzziness of a true vintage piece.

The neck is a binder neck, which is sewn across the body as seen in vintage models. This is a specification for excellent elasticity and durability, and to be used for many years. As a subtle, authentic touch, a custom "Jackson" print is stamped inside the binder-neck collar.

We intentionally omitted the double V-gusset—often considered the hallmark feature of our COZUN sweatshirts. By keeping the construction clean and simple, the spotlight remains entirely on this exclusive special-edition design.

We updated the fit from our standard COZUN sweatshirt layout by featuring raglan sleeves and side-seam construction, creating a slightly looser, more relaxed silhouette.

Constructed with flatseamer stitching to ensure the seams lie completely flat against the skin, delivering a stress-free, comfortable fit.

The fabric is densely knitted using 30-count yarn for the face and 7-count yarn for the back, achieving a plush, rich texture. The interior is hand-brushed by skilled artisans, providing cozy warmth even through the harshest winter cold.

The COZUN knitting machine was made by improving an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine that was used during the transitional period from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed sinker knitting machines. It has the unique characteristics of an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, combining the softness of a loopwheel knitting machine with the firmness of a sinker knitting machine. It has been a staple at BARNS OUTFITTERS for many years.
