Sizes that previously couldn't be produced due to the knitting machines limitations can now be produced by using a side seam specification! Sizes S to L are still round body specifications as before.

This is a standard item produced with the unique production background of BARNS OUTFITTERS, including a small-sized knitting machine for knitting heavyweight fabrics and flat seamer sewing using U.S. sewing machines. The "COZUN" series, which began with the development of fabrics that could withstand flat seaming without layering, is a piece that can be worn for a long time with affection as the fabric becomes familiar to the body. As part of the 24AW season, we are releasing a faithful reproduction of the Freedom Sleeve Sweatshirt that was sold by BARNS OUTFITTERS in the 1990s. In addition, XL sizes will also be available, following on from the standard items.

This model began with the development of a fabric that could withstand flat seamer sewing and has now become a fall/winter staple. A simple piece that allows you to enjoy the charm of BARNS OUTFITTERS to the fullest. Freedom sleeves, which were made in the 1940s and 1950s, were designed with three-dimensional cutting to expand the range of motion in order to pursue greater ease of movement. Due to the unique cutting, production efficiency was poor and the sewing required the skills of a skilled craftsman, so they were only produced for a short period of time, making them very expensive items in the vintage market. Furthermore, by using flat seams for sewing, they achieve a stress-free fit with no seams touching the skin.

The natural and gray versions have ribs of the same color, while the black, navy, and mustard versions have different vintage feel due to the varying intensity of the rib dye.

The round-body construction with no side seams provides a clean look and stress-free comfort.

The COZUN knitting machine was made by improving an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine that was used during the transitional period from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed sinker knitting machines. It has the unique characteristics of an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, combining the softness of a loopwheel knitting machine with the firmness of a sinker knitting machine. It has been a staple at BARNS OUTFITTERS for many years.
