"NORTH WORKS × BARNS OUTFITTERS special collaboration item"
The city of Fussa in Tokyo, about 40 km from the center of the city, has a somewhat American atmosphere, partly due to the Yokota Air Base. NORTH WORKS is a workshop and atelier in a renovated U.S. military house, where they continue to create products with unchanging value based on basic designs. Each item is made by hand, so each piece has a slightly different face, which becomes the flavor of the item. Created out of deep respect for the Native American tribes and silver silversmiths who have been central to our brand since its inception, BARNS OUTFITTERS presents a bangle crafted from an authentic Eisenhower Dollar coin, featured in this special collaboration series.

"Eisenhower dollar"
Minted between 1971 and 1978, the Eisenhower Dollar is an iconic US $1 coin featuring the portrait of Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States, affectionately known as "Ike." The reverse side honors the Apollo 11 moon landing with a striking design of a bald eagle alighting on the moon. This artwork pays homage to the eagle as the official mission symbol of Apollo 11, the lunar module’s call sign "Eagle," and Neil Armstrong’s famous words upon stepping onto the lunar surface: "The Eagle has landed."

Because the coin contains copper, hints of a warm bronze color subtly peek through, serving as a distinctive accent.

【NORTH WORKS】
With vintage American coins as its core, the company incorporates the beauty of materials collected from around the world into basic designs, and continues to produce unchanging products by hand.
