Using rare, century-old knitting machines in Wakayama, Japan, our fabric is knitted at an incredibly slow pace to incorporate maximum air. This creates a signature softness, perfect tension, and a fit that feels like a gentle embrace.
Among these, our "Tsuri-Urake" sweatshirt series has been a cornerstone of our Fall/Winter collections for years—an eternal standard that never goes out of style.
Now, we are proud to introduce a new model. While staying true to its vintage archives, we have completely reimagined the pattern from scratch to achieve the ultimate contemporary fit.

"The Ultimate Wearing Experience"

This piece offers exceptional comfort, combining the signature softness of Tsuri-ami knitting with a firm, resilient "koshi" (body) achieved through high-density tension. The ribbing is also tightly knitted, providing excellent recovery that prevents stretching and ensures long-lasting wear.
The silhouette features a generous body width paired with a slightly shorter length—a classic detail found in authentic vintage sweatshirts. The neckline is intentionally wider to evoke a vintage look without appearing loose or sloppy. For the Grey version, the ribbing was custom-knitted specifically to harmonize perfectly with the body color.

The armholes are generously sized to complement the wide body, ensuring a relaxed and unrestrictive fit. Despite its roominess, the silhouette is masterfully balanced to remain clean and polished, avoiding any 'sloppy' appearance.

The slightly cropped length reflects contemporary trends, while the intentionally wide shoulder width creates a relaxed drop-shoulder silhouette. When worn, the lowered shoulder line balances the shorter length, ensuring the fit feels natural and well-proportioned rather than 'too short.

Even the ribbing is custom-knitted from scratch to perfectly coordinate with each body color. This bespoke approach ensures a seamless, unified look that highlights the premium quality of the garment.

"TSURIAMI"

The "hanging knitting machine" was developed about 100 years ago during the Taisho era. The machine is hung from a beam, and the knitted fabric accumulates under the machine under its own weight. Hanging knitting machines, which can only knit about 10 meters of fabric per day, have been eliminated over the years due to their inefficiency, and most of them have been abandoned, leaving only a few, and have switched to sinker knitting machines. In addition, since it is an old machine, it is difficult to maintain and difficult to obtain parts in case of breakdown, so it is a very rare knitting machine that will eventually disappear. However, the unique softness and firmness of the knitted fabric, which slowly incorporates air and minimizes stress on the fabric, are unique features of hanging knitting.
