Our signature "COZUN" series is born from a production background unique to BARNS OUTFITTERS, utilizing small-diameter knitting machines for heavyweight fabric and vintage U.S.-made flatseamers.
Originally developed to withstand the rigorous tension of flatseamer sewing—which joins fabrics without overlapping for ultimate comfort—this series results in a garment that molds to your body over time.
This season, we feature a striking Japanese-inspired graphic: the legendary Dragon paired with the iconic Mount Fuji, symbolizing strength and heritage.

"Sukajan-Style Graphic: Mount Fuji & The Dragon"

Inspired by the iconic embroidery found on vintage "Sukajan" (Japanese Souvenir Jackets), this design brings a classic Japanese aesthetic to our signature heavyweight long-sleeve T-shirt.
Featuring the symbolic Mount Fuji and a soaring Dragon, the artwork captures a timeless oriental spirit.
To enhance the vintage character, we utilized two distinct printing methods: a "Wash-out" ink for White and Grey to achieve a soft, faded texture, and a "Half-rubber" print for Black and Navy, providing a bold, durable finish that complements the deeper tones.

This simple piece maximizes the appeal of BARNS OUTFITTERS, which started with the development of fabrics that could withstand flat seaming and has now become a year-round staple. The “double V gusset,” originally a detail of vintage sweatshirts, is expressed in the cut and sewn fabric to create a classic piece.

Flat seamer sewing is gentle against the skin for stress-free wear.

The Natural and Grey versions feature tonal ribs for a clean, unified aesthetic. For the deeper Black and Navy tones, we’ve intentionally adjusted the dye concentration of the ribs. This subtle variation in shade creates a sophisticated, two-tone contrast that captures the naturally faded look of authentic vintage athletic wear.

The round-body construction with no side seams provides a clean look and stress-free comfort.

This classic, tough fabric uses 14-count thread and will change over time, allowing you to enjoy it.

"COZUN"

The COZUN knitting machine was made by improving an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine that was used during the transitional period from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed sinker knitting machines. It has the unique characteristics of an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, combining the softness of a loopwheel knitting machine with the firmness of a sinker knitting machine. It has been a staple at BARNS OUTFITTERS for many years.
