"B.A.R.N.S."

Founded in Los Angeles in 1983, D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) was an educational program aimed at preventing drug abuse. It was widely implemented throughout the 1980s and 1990s, reaching up to 75% of school districts in the United States at its peak. Later studies raised questions about its effectiveness, and over time, many districts shifted to alternative programs. This design takes inspiration from the charity T-shirts associated with the D.A.R.E. program, incorporating the concept into BARNS OUTFITTERS’ logo for a unique reinterpretation.

The neckline is finished with a shoulder-to-shoulder taping, preventing seams from directly touching the skin for a comfortable, stress-free fit and added durability. This feature is commonly seen in printed bodies from the 1990s to early 2000s.
