One of the distinctive features often seen in vintage T-shirts is the “tubular body” construction, known in Japan as marudō—a seamless body without side seams. This design didn’t require side stitching, making it ideal for mass production, and as a result, most American-made T-shirts of that era were made using this "TUBE" construction. However, as fashion trends evolved and sizing diversity became more important, side-seam constructions gradually became the standard. To recreate the charm of those original garments, the [TUBE T-shirt] series was developed using 16-count BD yarn, tubular construction, and pigment dyeing to achieve a naturally faded look. This year, the series returns with a loose-fit version made using the largest tubular body size currently available in Japan. And by popular demand, it now comes in a long-awaited plain (non-printed) version.

The tubular body, constructed without side seams, was a common feature in affordable T-shirts used for printing during the era of mass production and consumption due to its efficiency. The [Tube Tee] series faithfully recreates the atmosphere of American T-shirts from that time, with meticulous attention to detail. The production of the body began with sourcing machines capable of knitting wide silhouettes in a tubular form. To enhance the vintage look, each piece undergoes pigment dyeing, resulting in a beautifully faded finish. The neckline is finished with a self-fabric shoulder-to-shoulder taping, preserving the retro aesthetic while also reinforcing the collar to prevent it from stretching over time.

It's rare to find a tubular body with this much width. The relaxed silhouette makes it the perfect piece for staying comfortable and stylish even in the peak of summer.

The fabric features a tubular construction, known as "marudo" (circular knit), with no side seams. This seamless, tube-shaped body offers a gentle feel against the skin and provides a stress-free wearing experience.

To faithfully recreate the look and feel of vintage American-made T-shirts, we’ve used a crisp, dry-textured fabric made from 16-count BD yarn. The pigment-dyeing process further enhances the vintage appeal by creating a naturally faded look unique to aged garments.
