"Horween Chromexcel Leather"
Founded in 1905 in Chicago, Illinois, the Horween Leather Company is one of America’s most renowned tanneries. While the company has developed many original leathers, its two most famous and widely celebrated are Shell Cordovan and Chromexcel. Chromexcel, in particular, has been produced for over a century using traditional hand-crafted tanning methods. Originally developed for the uppers of work boots and engineer boots, it has since been adopted by legendary shoemakers such as Alden and White’s. This special leather is made exclusively from steer hides over 2.5mm thick, carefully selected by the tannery. It is tanned using a combination method known as “chrome and vegetable tanning” (combo-tan) and then deeply infused with Horween’s proprietary blend of oils, resulting in a truly exceptional leather.
A truly special item, enhanced with the added touch of a 42 TALON zipper for an extra sense of exclusivity.
With its flat, gusset-free design, it holds cards and coins without adding bulk and fits into a back pocket without disrupting the silhouette.
Embossed with the hallmark of Button Works craftsmanship, this detail elevates the special item to an even higher level.
The unique balance of durability with softness and suppleness is a hallmark of Chromexcel leather. Its rich, oil-infused luster carries a distinctive shine that continues to captivate.
