This is a standard item produced with the unique production background of BARNS OUTFITTERS, including a small-sized knitting machine for knitting heavyweight fabrics and flat seamer sewing using U.S. sewing machines. The "COZUN" series, which began with the development of a fabric that could withstand flat seaming without overlapping the fabric, is a piece that can be used for a long time with affection as the fabric becomes familiar to the body. The world of the everyday and the realm of the extraordinary—two opposing worlds that may exist closer to one another than we ever imagined. This design captures that profound duality, serving as a visual bridge between the familiar and the unknown.

"The Sacred Horizon: A Spiritual Duality"

This model began with the development of a fabric that could withstand flat seamer sewing and has now become a spring/summer staple. A simple piece that allows you to enjoy the charm of BARNS OUTFITTERS to the fullest. While the front and back designs appear identical at first glance, the reverse reveals a profound hidden detail: Mount Fuji centered perfectly within the Torii gate. It is a design that explores the boundary between the physical and the spiritual, depicting the same world from two different realms—the earthly and the divine. To enhance this narrative, we’ve applied a "Wash-out" print for the Natural colorway and a "Crack" print for Black and Navy, giving each piece a weathered, timeless presence.

The "double V gusset," originally a detail of vintage sweatshirts, is expressed in a cut-and-sew fabric to create a classical piece. On the back of this piece, we’ve employed a highly specialized "Straddle Print" (Matagi-print), which flawlessly extends across both the body fabric and the neck gusset. This technique requires an extraordinary level of precision and technical skill, as the uneven surface of the gusset makes consistent ink application notoriously difficult.

The COZUN knitting machine was made by improving an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine that was used during the transitional period from loopwheel knitting machines to high-speed sinker knitting machines. It has the unique characteristics of an old-fashioned sinker knitting machine, combining the softness of a loopwheel knitting machine with the firmness of a sinker knitting machine. It has been a staple at BARNS OUTFITTERS for many years.
