"Vintage-Like T-Shirt"

One of the distinctive features often seen in vintage T-shirts is the use of a "tubular body" with no side seams. This design eliminated the need for side stitching, making it ideal for mass production. As a result, most American-made T-shirts at the time were made using this "tubular" (TUBE) construction. However, as the demand for more diverse sizing grew with the times, side-seamed styles gradually became the norm. To recreate those classic vintage items, our [TUBE T-shirt] series is back again this year—featuring 16-count BD yarn, a tubular body, and a faded look achieved through pigment dyeing. A design inspired by surf brands from the 1970s and 1980s, vividly crafted with multi-color printing as a special item for this season.

"Island feeling"

In the 1970s, with the dramatic improvement of printing techniques, the range of expression expanded, leading to an increase in companies using vibrant multi-color printing for advertisements and promotional materials, something that was previously impossible. Focusing on this era, BARNS OUTFITTERS is releasing a luxurious special item, using a front print with one plate and five plates for the back, showcasing vivid colors. The palm pattern and flamingo design, inspired by surf brands from the 1970s and 1980s, exude a tropical, resort-like atmosphere. The print features white and sax with a washed-out effect, and charcoal with cracks, creating a unique vintage feel.

The neckline features a simple yet durable binder neck construction, designed for long-lasting wear.

The moderately relaxed fit makes it perfect for wearing on its own or layered under a shirt or cardigan. Its well-balanced silhouette adapts easily to a variety of styles.

The fabric features a tubular construction, known as "marudo" (circular knit), with no side seams. This seamless, tube-shaped body offers a gentle feel against the skin and provides a stress-free wearing experience.

To faithfully recreate the look and feel of vintage American-made T-shirts, we’ve used a crisp, dry-textured fabric made from 16-count BD yarn. The pigment-dyeing process further enhances the vintage appeal by creating a naturally faded look unique to aged garments. As you wear and wash it over time, the color continues to fade, allowing you to enjoy the evolution of the piece into a truly one-of-a-kind item.
