The city of Fussa in Tokyo, about 40 km from the center of the city, has a somewhat American atmosphere, partly due to the Yokota Air Base. NORTH WORKS is a workshop and atelier in a renovated U.S. military house, where they continue to create products with unchanging value based on basic designs. Each item is made by hand, so each piece has a slightly different face, which becomes the flavor of the item. The new collection for Fall/Winter 2025 features a special collaboration between BARNS OUTFITTERS and NORTH WORKS, highlighting the brand's iconic Smile motif. The Smile Collection was specially commissioned by BARNS OUTFITTERS and includes a series of accessories centered around the iconic smiling face. A new bangle featuring an iconic smile and detailed arrow stamp work — a perfect blend of playfulness and tradition.

"Smile × Arrow Stamp Work"

What if Native Americans had believed in a "smile" deity…? This fictional concept inspired a design where iconic smile motifs are surrounded by stamp work that feels almost like a symbol of devotion. The arrow design, traditionally believed to serve as a protective charm, is said to ward off evil when worn as an accessory.

The inside is stamped with the logos of both BARNS OUTFITTERS and NORTH WORKS. Each stamp is applied by hand, resulting in a one-of-a-kind finish unique to every piece.
