"NORTH WORKS × BARNS OUTFITTERS special collaboration items"
The city of Fussa in Tokyo, about 40 km from the center of the city, has a somewhat American atmosphere, partly due to the Yokota Air Base. NORTH WORKS is a workshop and atelier in a renovated U.S. military house, where they continue to create products with unchanging value based on basic designs. Each item is made by hand, so each piece has a slightly different face, which becomes the flavor of the item. This pendant top, made using a vintage coin, is part of a special collaborative series commissioned by BARNS OUTFITTERS. This series pays respect to the various Native American tribes and silversmiths who have been a central influence on the brand since its beginning.

"Indian Head Penny"
The one-cent copper coin minted from 1859 to 1909 is commonly referred to as the Indian Head Penny. As the name suggests, it features an “Indian Head” (headdress), but it does not depict a Native American; rather, it is said to represent the Statue of Liberty wearing the headdress. This design is believed to combine the imagery of the frontier spirit of the time and the concept of "freedom," symbolizing America. Old coins and Native American motifs have also traditionally been valued as charms for protection against evil and for attracting wealth.

【NORTH WORKS】
With vintage American coins as its core, the company incorporates the beauty of materials collected from around the world into basic designs, and continues to produce unchanging products by hand.
