At that time, it gained strong support among workers for its durable workwear, including denim and heavy-weight flannel shirts, praised for both functionality and quality. Today, the brand draws from its long history and rich archives to create modernized silhouettes and materials. It evokes nostalgia for those who grew up with vintage clothing while offering a fresh appeal to younger generations. From the ongoing special collaboration series that began last year, this season features a flannel shirt. Sampling items preserved from that era, it has been updated for modern wear, resulting in a truly special piece.

"A Piece Aiming for True Vintage"

This collaboration with BIG MAC features a classic American casual fall-winter flannel shirt. Its origins trace back to 16th-century Wales, where brushed wool was used to increase warmth, making it popular as outerwear for farmers and laborers. By the late 19th century, it had become standard workwear for American pioneers and miners, and by the 1950s, it gained popularity in Hollywood films and country-western culture as a fashion item. 
The flannel shirt, which has evolved alongside American history, is now indispensable not only in fashion but also in outdoor, music, and street cultures. For this release, vintage patterns have been sampled and updated with a modern silhouette and design for contemporary wear.

The names of both brands, a mark of the collaboration. While not visible when worn, it’s a small detail that brings a touch of joy to the wearer.

A relaxed fit captures the spirit of the original era. The roomy armholes reduce bulk when wearing thick layers underneath, ensuring comfortable movement.

The buttons are reminiscent of vintage pieces, and the chest pocket features BARNS OUTFITTERS’ original buttons for a unique touch.
