This construction was ideal for mass production, as it eliminated the need to sew the side seams, making it perfect for inexpensive American-made T-shirts at the time. However, to adjust the width of the shirt, it was necessary to modify the knitting machine, which led to the gradual shift towards side-seam construction for easier adjustments in fit. Now, we've faithfully recreated this classic American vintage style using the original tubular design. For the Spring/Summer 2025 season, the popular ROLL design from BARNS OUTFITTERS makes its return.

"G.O.A.T."

In basketball, when a clutch shot is made in the final seconds to win the game, or in soccer when a super goal is scored, the commentator often exclaims "GOAT!" in excitement to praise the incredible play. While "GOAT" literally translates to "goat" in English, it’s commonly used as a slang acronym for "Greatest of All Time," meaning "the best ever." This T-shirt, with its heavyweight fabric and just-right fit that isn’t too loose, has become a standout item in BARNS OUTFITTERS’ history, earning the affectionate nickname "G.O.A.T Tee." It has earned its place as one of the brand's greatest creations. The neck features a simple binder neck design, adding to its timeless appeal.

This design has appeared on various items over time, and its inspiration comes from the signs of an old-school diner in California. For the print, white uses sublimation, while blue and lilac feature crack rubber for a vintage, worn-in effect.
