This item, designed with the concepts of "resistance to stretching" and "long-lasting durability", has been incredibly popular since its debut. Crafted from a moderately thick, irregularly textured yarn, it offers both comfort and strength. While it has undergone minor changes each season as a staple item, it has now been decided that the fabric and specifications used with the 18/-OE fabric will continue to be used in the future, making it a truly timeless standard. For the Spring/Summer 2025 season, a fresh new design makes its debut—this time inspired by the original merchandise of a local skate shop, a beloved gathering spot for the community. Featuring "Banana boy" as the shop’s quirky mascot, the design captures the laid-back, authentic spirit of grassroots skate culture.

The fabric is wrapped in a trumpet-like swirl, incorporating both the main body and ribbing, with a double binder sewn around the entire 360 degrees. Due to the special nature of this design, each piece is carefully sewn by experienced craftsmen, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.

"The Tough Neck"

Thanks to the 360-degree double binder stitching, this design not only adds a stylish accent but also results in a tough, durable piece that embodies the ideal BARNS OUTFITTERS spirit. This construction effectively minimizes neck stretching and distortion, common issues with T-shirts. The fabric uses 18-count OE (Open End) yarn, which contains more air within the fibers, offering excellent moisture absorption and quick-drying properties. Set in a fictional skate shop in California, this design features Banana boy as the shop’s mascot, capturing the spirit of a local hangout where skaters and like-minded individuals come together. In board-riding culture, the phrase "Locals Only" is well-known, but we’ve added a playful twist with "Cool Banana Only", blending humor with authenticity. Inspired by the youth-driven energy of the West Coast, this piece reflects the deep connections between skaters, friends, and their hometowns, embodying the raw essence of board culture. To enhance the vintage appeal, a washout print technique is used, followed by a wash and tumble-dry process, giving it a naturally worn-in feel.

The armholes are designed with extra room for better airflow, and combined with the dry texture of the fabric, this piece becomes an ideal choice for the hottest summer days, offering both comfort and breathability.
