"Vintage-Like T-Shirt"

One of the distinctive features often seen in vintage T-shirts is the use of a "tubular body" with no side seams. This design eliminated the need for side stitching, making it ideal for mass production. As a result, most American-made T-shirts at the time were made using this "tubular" (TUBE) construction. However, as the demand for more diverse sizing grew with the times, side-seamed styles gradually became the norm. To recreate those classic vintage items, our 【TUBE T-shirt】 series is back again this year—featuring 16-count BD yarn, a tubular body, and a faded look achieved through pigment dyeing. A bold sleeve print steals the spotlight in this standout design.

"CREATIVE Industry"

The creative industries refer to sectors involved in the production of art, film, games, design, advertising, and more, and have become a major focus for countries worldwide since the late 1990s. Illinois, located in the American Midwest, is home to Chicago, one of the nation’s leading industrial cities. It is a central hub for the U.S. advertising industry, hosting many major agencies. Chicago is also a key city in the music scene, producing influential artists like Kanye West, and is renowned as the city of jazz. The red pinpoint on the U.S. map marks Springfield, the capital of Illinois. The printing techniques used on both the sleeves and back feature a washout effect for white, and crack print for black and blue.

Instead of the commonly used binder neck, this features a simple double-needle lockstitch construction—adding to the authentic vintage feel that BARNS OUTFITTERS aims to capture.

The moderately relaxed fit makes it perfect for wearing on its own or layered under a shirt or cardigan. Its well-balanced silhouette adapts easily to a variety of styles.

The fabric features a tubular construction, known as "marudo" (circular knit), with no side seams. This seamless, tube-shaped body offers a gentle feel against the skin and provides a stress-free wearing experience.

The pigment dye is applied to the fabric’s surface, then washed to create a unique faded look reminiscent of vintage worn-in garments.

To faithfully recreate the look and feel of vintage American-made T-shirts, we’ve used a crisp, dry-textured fabric made from 16-count BD yarn. The pigment-dyeing process further enhances the vintage appeal by creating a naturally faded look unique to aged garments. As you wear and wash it over time, the color continues to fade, allowing you to enjoy the evolution of the piece into a truly one-of-a-kind item.
