Another collaboration item to color the 2024AW season has arrived. Skookum is a brand created by Centralia Knitting Mills, founded in Washington State in 1939. For 80 years, it has provided dreams and memories to many young people through fashion, including stadium jumpers, which are a symbol of good American college fashion after World War II. The brand went out of business in 2019, but was rebuilt thanks to the passion of a Japanese company. This time, BARNS OUTFITTERS requested a special order item for a style known in Japan as the Pharaoh Jacket. It has been completed as a special collaboration item with attention to detail, including the pattern and rib specifications.

"The atmosphere of the 1970s"

In Japan it is known as a Pharaoh jacket, but in America it is called a car coat. It became known as a Pharaoh jacket in Japan because it was worn by the delinquent boys of the car club "Pharaoh Gang" that appeared in the 1973 film "American Graffiti" directed by George Lucas. The item's features include a melton body, shawl collar, and a hem without ribbing, reminiscent of a stadium jacket without a ribbed hem. Making use of the details of the time, the thick leather and melton cut-outs make this a piece with a strong presence.

The tag of both brands, which is a symbol of the collaboration, is placed on the neck. The BARNS OUTFITTERS tag used this time is a special specification made just for this purpose.

The raglan sleeves that extend from the neck are luxuriously made of cowhide leather. The more you use it, the softer it becomes, making it an item you'll want to cherish and look after.
